Four Aces Bike For Sale

EDR Sponsor Wes White just put his customer's bike on the block. Four Aces-built machines don't come up for sale often, so here's your chance to pick up a bike that you know the history on and that has been taken care of. Not to mention, it has a perfect stance, looks great, etc.

This is what Wes has to say about it:
This thing is still nice after a year and a half of easy riding. One off custom build by me, finished about a year and half ago. New motor, new hardtail, 1970 front frame section and motor. Wheels relaced on this one with new SS spokes front and rear on one new and one almost perfect rim. Boyer/battery ignition. Stock big Euro touring tank, bates fender. Kinda a fifties looking sedate custom. 18 and 19 tires, tires are still good on this baby. Careful care of this baby only, tuned and serviced by ME!!

$8000 or best offer. call me (818) 472-7313 if you are serious.

15 ROOMS AVAILABLE IN ENSENADA

I just got an email from Juan Carlos at the Santa Isabel. It is now sold out.

He has a buddy with a hotel one block away and said they have a block of 15 rooms saved for EDR guys.

The hotel is called the Sahara and is on 1st Street. It has parking, or you can park your bike with the rest of ours in the secure lot at the Isabel.

Rooms are $85 per night, for two queen beds.

Mention that you are with the El Diablo Run. (Not EDR, they don't get that.)

You have to be willing to reserve with a credit card via Juan Carlos' email. (I'm sure he's stepping on it, but who wouldn't?) You can shoot him an email at: misionsantaisabel@yahoo.com

15 PALAPAS STILL AVAILABLE AT RUBEN'S CAMP

Bill and I have returned from an overnight visit to Ruben's Campo in San Felipe January 20th, during which we spent several hours chatting with camp manager Aaron about accommodations for the EDR on April 19 and 20.

The truth of the matter is this:

THERE ARE STILL APPROXIMATELY 15 6-MAN PALAPA HUTS AVAILABLE AT RUBEN'S CAMP.

According to Aaron, he has in fact been turning away requests for accommodations on the 19th and 20th of April that he has received by email, but only because these requests did not bear the subject EL DIABLO RUN in the reference heading.

Our recommendation to anyone who has been recently denied a reservation at Ruben's Campo:

RESEND YOUR REQUEST VIA EMAIL TO AARON, BUT MAKE SURE THE SUBJECT LINE CLEARLY STATES "EL DIABLO RUN" in both the reference heading AND the body copy of your email.

Aaron is a smart and consciencous guy, and he wants nothing more than to satisfy every request for lodging that he receives for our event.

Unfortunately, English is Aaron's second language, so a bit of coaxing, cajoling and hand holding may be required to get your reservation in good order.

Like so many of our other amigos south of the border, our friend Aaron's attitude on topics like space reservations and sleeping arrangements is very relaxed. When we told him EDR riders were getting nervous about the availability of accommodations at his super accommodating camp, he said, "Don't worry my friend--we can sleep 400 people at my camp! Everyone will be happy!"

We thanked Aaron for his accommodating attitude, but asked him to work extra hard to take care of any group or individual who wants to reserve a palapa for the 19th and 20th.

With all this in mind, please visit the "Where" page on the EDR website and send Aaron a new request for space. Thanks for your patience and understanding. if you have any problems, please make billdozer on the JJ aware of them.

2006 EDR DVD Coming Soon...?

Here's a DVD trailer our friend Stew's been messing around with in his spare time. Stew's plan was to knock out a tight little 30-minute documentary in Final Cut Pro last summer, but real work got in the way so al of us put this project on the back burner. If interest in a 2006 EDR documentary is high enough among Jockey Journalists, Stew may ramp up production on his magnum opus. To grease the squeaky wheel, please visit the JJ and cast your vote. Sponsors of this year's EDR will get a free copy of the 2006 Documentary if/when it becomes available. everyone else will probably have to pay 12 or 15 bucks to cover the cost of disk burning and USPS delivery. No one's in this deal to make a fortune, we just don't want our friend to lose money...
